LIV 8 Acupuncture Point

LR 8 Acupuncture Point is called as qū quán. Qu means crooked. Quan means spring. The point is at the medial end of the transverse crease of the popliteal fossa. With the knee flexed, the local depression is like a spring.

LR 8 Acupuncture Point Location

One the medial side of the knee, in the depression of the transverse popliteal crease between the upper border of the medial epicondyle of the femur and semitendinosus and semimembranosus tendons. Needle perpendicularly 0.5 – 0.8 cun.

Just superior to medial end of popliteal crease; anterior to tendons semimembranosis and semitendinosis
