SI 9 Acupuncture Point is called as jiān zhēn. Jian means Shoulder. Zhen means upright. This is the point where the Small Intestine meridian goes on to the Shoulder.

On the upper back, with the arm in abduction, 1 cun superior to the posterior end of the axillary fold. Needle perpendicularly 0.5 – 1 cun.
