GV 9 Acupuncture Point is called as Zhi Yang. Zhi means Reaching. Yang means Yang of Yin-Yang. This point is on a level with the Diaphragm. The Qi of the meridian passes here and ascends. i.e, it reached to “Yang within Yang” above the diaphragm from “Yin within Yang” below the Diaphragm.
GV 9 Acupuncture Point Location
On the middle back, below the spinous process of the seventh thoracic vertebra (T7), approximately level with the inferior angle of the scapula. Needle obliquely (upward) 0.5 – 1 cun.
